The future of the transport industry

The future of the transport industry

Until about 5000 years ago, people had to fold long distances on horseback or on foot. In conjunction with the invention of the wheel, a big step in the transportation of large items, elderly and sick people have opened the way of moving and mass migrations are easy to make. In the 1950s, about 25% of the population of Turkey lives in villages, while this ratio is It is expected to rise to 74 and 80% in 10 years. In this case, traffic, air and sound pollution, stress and economic problems are causing the cities. These problems are not only for our country, but also the problems that are experienced throughout the world, and with the new technologies produced, solutions are produced in part to these problems. Now let's take a look at the innovations that are expected to spread throughout the world by 2050 in the transportation industry.

Autonomous vehicles

In the areas of artificial intelligence, perhaps the most affecting our daily lives will be the driverless tools. The works of many famous brands in this area are giving fruit and the prototypes produced are successfully undergoing tests. And what are the advantages of artificial intelligence that manages these autonomous vehicles according to a human being? The first of these advantages may be to comply with the rules. Artificial intelligence is also a program, as a result, it is not possible to go out of the rules stated. Suppose all the vehicles on the streets are autonomous. Because all vehicles will be in contact with each other in a variety of ways, they can all be able to get in a synchronized way without accidents. No traffic light or traffic police are needed. This provides a great advantage both economically and in terms of time. We're not going to have a problem finding parking in autonomous cars. The vehicles will find their closest parking space to themselves, and when we want it, it'll come to our feet. Another change will be in taxis. The concept of taxis seems to disappear. We'll get the cab to our phones and let us know where we're going and we'll go where we want to be safe. In cars, there will be no need for gas pedal, gear, steering, but also a big change in vehicle designs. Instead of classical lenses, there will be transparent screens showing the weather, road status and news as we see in the movies. Nowadays, the general use of unmanned aerial vehicles for military purposes will become widespread in civil aviation. Pilots will only intervene on the ground in case of emergencies. With the proliferation of autonomous vehicles, the use of sensors, which will provide regular information to these tools, would also increase. Sensors to be placed inside roads, vehicles and even buildings will help to drive faster, safer and economical driving by sending instantaneous data about road status, weather and traffic flow.

Electric vehicles

Today, 90% of the pollution on the streets, and 14% of global air pollution, consist of the gases produced by automobiles. It has increased the work carried out on electric vehicles, both preventing global warming and the fact that oil will end soon. Although there are many electric vehicles manufactured now, it has not yet come to the desired level of technical features and economically. However, these vehicles will become increasingly widespread in the coming years, and within 30 years they will create a vast majority of vehicles on the streets. With the proliferation of electric vehicles, the reduction of carbon emissions of 500 million tonnes per year in 2050 is seen in front.

With the proliferation of these vehicles, the petrol stations we see around us are expected to replace the stations that produce their own electricity and the sun-paneled parking spaces. In this way, clean and inexpensive energy will open the front of the transportation.

Self-renewing roads

In the future, not only the vehicles will undergo change in roads. Regardless of the quality of the vehicles, the transportation quality is disrupted if roads are damaged. We don't know the self-renewing concrete anymore. The bacteria placed inside the concrete produce calcium carbonate, allowing the cracks in the concrete to be closed. Because these bacteria can survive around 200 years in nature, they also extend the lifetime of the concrete. Although the self-renewing concretes are not used on the roads, it is expected to begin its work in the coming years. Dutch researchers continue to work on the asphalt roads to renew themselves. It is planned to charge the electric vehicles by means of the conductivity of the Asfalta, the use of induction heating, self-closing pits and even electricity, and wireless transmission.

Drone transportation

While the drones are well-entered into our lives, one of the areas used outside of entertainment is transportation. In this area of Amazon and Google, the drones are used to carry things like cargo, pizza and first aid supplies. In Switzerland, two hospitals use drones to carry blood tubes. By the time the drones can carry more loads and travel longer distances, human transport will become possible in the future.

One of the projects of the renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk, Hyperloop is simply a magnetic field created and a portion of the air is a capsule that can carry human beings in the tunnel or in the tunnels. The capsule is exposed to almost zero friction due to the magnetic field being airborne and the vast majority of the ambient air is being subjected to a speed of up to 1200 km/h. The project is still under development and the first attempt is made in Dubai. The SpaceX company, which holds the project, held a capsule design competition for students in August 2017. Students made their own designs with the teams they established and tried to achieve the highest speed by implementing their projects at the SpaceX headquarters. The same competition is scheduled to be organized in the coming years. If this project is implemented, the transportation sector will come to a much different location. Nowadays, the fastest transportation method is to leave the aviation behind. Thanks to Hyperloop, we will be able to fold between the two farthest ends of Turkey in just 2 hours. This project is expected to be implemented within 10 years and the price for passengers will be only 20-30 dollars.

Multipurpose bridges

They are expected to get their hands on the bridges of evolving technology and changing lifestyles. Unlike the bridges today. 30 years from now, we can come across purely social bridges built for pedestrians, with cafes, restaurants and cinema halls. One of them

It is the 11th Street Bridge, which continues its construction in the United States. This bridge, projected to be completed in 2019, is home to areas such as the amphitheatre, café, picnic area, game parks. This bridge aims to contribute economically to the region and to increase the interactions of people on both sides of the bridge. The transportation sector will come to many different places in the coming years, along with emerging technologies. Many projects that have not yet come to mind or do not apply can enter our lives in the coming years. At least we can tell you that a safer, economical, fast and clean life awaits us.
